Welcome to the AMV Consortium.

The AMV Consortium was created to spearhead an effort to promote good AMV development practices. As a mission statement, the Consortium proposes the following theories:
  • AMVs should be free of subtitles, unless said subtitles are included to serve some specific narrative or stylistic purpose.
  • AMVs should be free of all watermarks.
  • AMVs should be encoded using codecs that are viewable on any system, the most notable codec that violates this rule being WMV3.
The Consortium aims to offer a badge of approval, similar to that which the w3c offers, to AMVs that meet the guidelines listed above. By displaying the AMV Consortium badge, users can be informed of general quality before downloading AMVs. If you would like your AMV(s) to be considered for approval, send an email to amv(at)amvconsortium(dot)org.
